US Xpress driver Bryant Hines took the 5 millionth Pro-TREAD lesson on February 7, 2013 at 3:10 pm Pacific Time, less than a year since the company served its 4 millionth lesson. That means that about 2,900 drivers EVERY DAY take a Pro-TREAD driver lesson, or about 90,000 drivers a month.
In recognition for taking the 5 millionth lesson — Lane Changes and Intersections — Instructional Technologies, Inc. awarded a personalized leather jacket to Hines at the US Xpress headquarters in Chattanooga, TN. The leather jacket has been a tradition since October 2007 when Instructional Technologies crossed the 1 million-lesson mark.
"With major compliance changes coming out of Washington, such as the Hours of Service update to CSA, we expect another peak year for Pro-TREAD," said Dr. James Voorhees, President and CEO of Instructional Technologies, Inc. "We can debate the pros and cons of CSA all we want, but the positive is that it has shone a light on driver safety and training."
